Our Story
Wels Tallow Company was born from a lifetime desire to live a healthy, non-toxic lifestyle-an idea that took on a new sense of urgency after a personal wake-up call. As a working mom I had tried to be mindful of what my family consumed and used, however I had become complacent, missing the mark on the non-toxic life I had desired. It wasn't until my son was seriously injured in a tragic bus accident that I realized just how fragile life truly is and how far out of alignment I was living. Many life changes were made in the months and years following. In those moments of reflection, I knew I needed to make more impactful and holistic changes for the well-being of my family and our home.
While my son recovered, I looked for opportunities for our family to heal in every way. I began to research how to detox our body, mind and homes. I slowly began to remove chemicals from our home, starting with the laundry room, cleaning products, my entire pantry and eventually the bathroom. Always having had sensitive skin and knowing that the skin is our largest organ where we absorb the majority of the toxins in our environment, I knew this was one area where I wanted to focus my energy. I read every product label on every bottle in our home and the garbage was piling up! After months of searching for safe skin products with no luck and a lot of frustration, I switched gears to learn how to make my own clean and effective skincare products.
With the birth of my first grandson Wels, who is named after my late father, I was quickly motivated to create the safest, most effective skin products for his delicate skin. With the entire family testing each batch I crafted in the kitchen the tallow products slowly evolved into the formulas we use today. These products have become an everyday part of our skincare routines, home and family. I can honestly say that these products are made with love for the whole family!
From our family to yours, I hope you enjoy them as much as we do!
